Service & Warranty


Your Air Conditioning system is a vital piece of equipment in your home.  It provides heating and cooling comfort to you and your family,  in particular during the warm summer months and sizzling extreme days. . It is possible that at some time throughout the year, your air conditioner may experience issues. Prolonged usage and the weather elements  play a role in the degradation of  most air conditioning systems, no matter the brand.

Regular annual maintenance is fundamental  to prolonging the life of equipment and with most manufacturers a pertinent part to upholding your Warranty conditions.  A system that is regularly serviced and maintained will be far more cost efficient to run and less prone to break down when you need it most.


Annual Maintenance Checklist

1.Check air filters, vacuum, wash clean or replace as necessary.

2.Check condensate drain for free drainage.

3.Check compressor compartment for oil stains indicating refrigeration leaks.

4.Check suction and discharge operating pressures.

5.Check the tightness of electrical connections to the compressor

6.Check for correct operation of all electrical equipment i.e. de-ice control, H.P and L.P safety controls and compressor contactor.

7.Check all refrigeration piping for chafing and vibration.

8.Check air supply at all diffusers.

9.Check for noise and vibration and correct as necessary.

10.Check the tightness of all fan and motor mountings.

11.Check for insulation and duct damage and repair as necessary.

12.Remove lint and dust accumulation from outdoor coil fans.

13.Touch up all paintwork damage to prevent corrosion. Import



Warranty Period

The period during which Warranty is in effect is the actual date of purchase, as reflected on the invoice/ receipt provided to you.  Please see your Manufacturers website to confirm the Warranty Period. When you make any claim under Warranty it is essential that you provide a copy of your proof of purchase of the  product. A claim under this Warranty is not formally made until proof of purchase is provided. You will not be able to gain the benefit of Warranty without making a claim.

If, following receipt of a claim under Warranty, it is determined that your claim is invalid, Expressapp Air Conditioning may charge you for any labour, parts or transport costs incurred in assessing your claim.

Warranty Exclusions

This section identifies what is excluded under this Warranty. 

1.This Warranty does not extend to loss caused by normal wear and tear, fire, water (liquid spillage or ingression), theft, vermin or insect infestation (including without limitation geckos, ants, spiders and frogs).

2.This Warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  1. misuse or abusive use of the product;
  2. incorrect operation or not following the operation.
  3. improper installation or incorrect application
  4. incorrect or improper maintenance or failure to maintain the product (including without limitation Annual Service and Cleaning of filters);
  5. failure to clean or improper cleaning of the product;
  6. incorrect voltage or non-authorised electrical connections;
  7. adverse external conditions such as power surges and dips, thunderstorm activity, acts of God, acts of terrorism, damage caused by vermin, or any other act or circumstance beyond control;
  8. exposure to excessive heat, moisture or dampness;
  9. exposure to abnormally corrosive conditions;
  10. rust or normal weathering or corrosive environmental conditions (including without limitation salt spray, sand and dust);
  11. use of non authorised/non-standard, defective or incompatible parts;
  12. repair, modification or other work carried out on the product other than by Authorised Service Personnel.
  13. Use of faulty/leaking batteries.  

3.This Warranty does not cover service costs in replacing and maintaining consumable parts which have ceased working through normal wear and tear such as, but not limited to: filters and other parts classifiable as a consumable part.

4.This Warranty does not cover any air conditioning unit which is installed, removed or re-installed at a location other than the original location at which the unit was first installed during the period of this Warranty.

5.This warranty does not cover any air conditioning unit where the primary use is not climatic human comfort (including without limitation a computer server room).

6.This Warranty does not cover products which, at the time you consider a claim might be made under this Warranty, do not bear the original manufacturer’s factory-applied serial number in its original form (for instance where it or the sticker bearing it has been removed, wiped out, rubbed off, or altered).

7.If, after we have inspected the product, we are of the opinion that the product or alleged defect is not covered by this Warranty and the consumer guarantees for whatever reason, you will be liable for any labour, parts or transport costs incurred.

8.An air conditioning unit installed in an area which is not easily accessible (including without limitation roofs or above ground level) may require additional costs for labour and access equipment. Such costs are to be borne by you should service or maintenance be required.

9.Repairs to units where the product is operated outside published maximum ratings.

Owner's Responsibility

Normal maintenance as recommended is not covered by this warranty and it is recommended that owners take the time to familiarize themselves with the operating and maintenance requirements, which include:

  • Cleaning of the air filters and replacement where necessary;
  • Operating and maintaining the product in accordance with instructions;
  • Ensuring that the air inlet and outlet on the outdoor unit is kept clear;
  • Replacing of batteries
